No. Everything travels directly between your devices over your Wi-Fi (or the phone's own hotspot when there's no Wi-Fi). Nothing is uploaded to OthTech or any cloud, and the link between the devices is encrypted end to end.
On the same Wi-Fi, devices with the app open show up on the Nearby radar by themselves — tap one, check that both screens show the same number, and the other side taps Accept. If a device doesn't appear, use Show my code on one and scan it (or type its 8 characters) on the other.
Yes. Connect several devices at once and send the same files to all of them, or pick one. Each connection is encrypted on its own.
OthSync moves files. Contacts and apps come across with your Google account when you sign in on the new phone, and WhatsApp has its own transfer (Settings → Chats → Transfer chats).
No. A folder in OthSync is a collection that points at files where they already are on your phone, so it takes no extra space. Deleting a folder only removes the folder — your files stay put.
Android phones running Android 9 or newer. There's no iPhone version yet. The Windows side needs OthTech Switch on Windows 10 or 11 — the same free download as for PC moves.
