Send to and from your phone over the internet, when the PC and phone aren't on the same Wi-Fi.

  • NewPC and phone no longer need to share a Wi-Fi network. When OthSync can't reach your phone directly (mobile data, a different network, or office Wi-Fi that keeps devices apart), files go through OthTech's relay instead. They stay encrypted end to end: the relay passes them on but can't read them.

A tidier “faster with a cable” tip, on the sending computer only.

  • BetterOn very large folders the old computer now starts sending while it's still making the list of files, instead of after it.
  • BetterThe “faster with a network cable” tip is now a small button in the corner of the sending computer's progress card. It glows until you've opened it once, and shows this move's own numbers — the time left now and on a cable — with three steps to switch without stopping. The receiving computer stays uncluttered.

Paid plans live in your OthTech account, honest time left on the free plan, and a nudge to use a network cable.

  • NewBuying Personal or Professional now uses your OthTech account: sign in — or create an account in under a minute — right from the plan step, and the purchase carries on by itself. Your licence and order are then always in your account. Free moves still never need an account.
  • NewSigned in? The plan step lists the licences in your account — bought on the website or earlier in the app — with one-click “Use here”. No key to type.
  • FixedOn the free plan (or any plan with a limit), time left and the file count now cover only the files that fit in the allowance — not the whole selection. A move of 11 GB out of a 400 GB selection no longer shows “183 hours” or “775 of 9,09,661 files”.
  • NewBoth computers now show whether they're on Wi-Fi or a network cable. When either is on Wi-Fi, or the move is slow, a tip explains how much faster a cable would be — and that switching mid-move is safe: files already moved are never sent again.
  • BetterThe pairing screens suggest a network cable before the move starts, while it's still easy to plug one in.

Much faster with folders of many small files, honest time left, and new Settings and Help windows.

  • BetterFolders of many small files (projects, code, documents) move up to about 4× faster: small files are received whole and written straight to the disk, and more files are opened at once on the old computer. Every file is still fingerprinted on both computers and read back before it counts.
  • NewFolders that programs re-create are left out by default, on every drive — but only when they really are: node_modules beside a package.json, Python virtual environments, __pycache__, and apps' caches in AppData. A folder of your own with such a name always moves. The report says how to bring them back (npm install, pip install).
  • FixedTime left no longer jumps to many hours while tiny files are copied, and no longer freezes during one big file: it counts files and size separately and measures the data as it arrives. While files are small, speed shows files per second, with a note explaining why.
  • NewBoth computers show how long the move has been running, and the total time when it's done — counting every run if it was paused or continued.
  • NewA redesigned Settings window — General, Plan & account, Privacy, Updates and About — with picture previews of each theme, your plan and account at a glance, and exactly what can and can't ever be shared.
  • NewA new Help & support window: search every answer, browse by topic, and reach a person (with a diagnostics file) when the answers aren't enough.

Unlock browser and app moves without leaving your selection, and see exactly how each app moves.

  • NewApps that move with a paid plan show an “Unlock” button on Select content. Buy right there, and the apps it unlocks (for example every Chrome profile's bookmarks and extensions) are added to your migration at once — nothing to tick again.
  • New“How this works” opens a clear guide for each app: what was found for that profile, what will move, the four steps on both computers, what happens to passwords, how to undo, and its limits.
  • BetterUpgrading on the Plan step says which apps were added, with a button to review them.

Faster moves of many small files, and both computers show the same progress.

  • BetterFolders with many small files (projects, code, documents) move several times faster: both computers now open and save many files at once while antivirus checks each one.
  • NewText-like files (code, documents, settings) travel packed — often 2–3× smaller over Wi-Fi. Photos, videos and archives are already packed and go as they are. Every file is still fingerprinted and checked on its own bytes.
  • FixedThe old and new computer could show very different percentages during a move. Both now show the same progress, speed and time left, updated several times a second.
  • BetterSpeed shows files per second too, and how much smaller packing made the data.

  • FixedA shop's migration code that OthTech has cancelled now stops working on the computer too, like any revoked licence.

Dark mode, and a first look in Hindi.

  • NewDark mode: Settings → Appearance — Light, Dark, or the same as Windows (changes when Windows does).
  • Newहिन्दी (preview): the start screens and Settings in Hindi. The rest of the app follows as the translation is checked.
  • BetterYour appearance and language choices are kept on this computer and survive restarts and updates.

Faster scans and steadier Wi-Fi moves.

  • BetterScanning the old computer is about 5 times faster: folders are read several at a time, and apps and clean-up suggestions are found while the folders are counted.
  • BetterMoves over Wi-Fi keep more data in flight, so the link stays busy even when the router adds delay.
  • FixedFiles whose names end in a dot or a space (Windows hides these) now move instead of being reported missing.
  • FixedReconnecting very quickly after a drop could leave a stray part file next to a finished one.
  • BetterThe unfinished-move record is now written crash-safely, and screens are easier to read (contrast and larger tick boxes).

Your apps, not just your files.

  • NewBrowsers: Chrome, Edge and Brave bookmarks are added to the same browser on the new computer and counted; Firefox bookmarks and history too; your extensions list with one-click links. (Personal and up)
  • NewDeveloper setup: VS Code settings merged and extensions reinstalled, Git repositories checked commit by commit, projects rebuilt, SSH and Docker settings. .env files and private keys move only when you tick them. (Professional)
  • NewLocal databases: MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL and MongoDB exported safely while they run, imported on the new computer, and every table's rows counted. (Professional)
  • NewClean-up suggestions before you move: exact duplicates, old installers in Downloads and cache folders — leave them out with one tick. Nothing is ever deleted.
  • NewManaged installs for companies: IT installs with an enrollment token (MSI or silent installer) and the computer shows who manages it.
  • BetterEach app gets an honest status — Migrated, Rebuilt, Needs Login, Needs Manual Setup — and what to do next, in the app and the report. Professional: advanced network and disk checks in Help.

Migrations your company sets up for you.

  • NewYour company assigned you a migration? Sign in with your work account (Settings → Account) and it loads by itself on the Plan step — nothing to buy, no key to type.
  • NewYour IT team sees the progress and the result — counts and sizes only, never your file names.
  • BetterSigning in also tells your company how much space your computer has, so they can plan the move.

  • NewHad a shop move your files? Enter the shop's code on the Plan step — the migration is covered, with no size limit.
  • NewYou see which shop it is and agree on screen before anything moves. The shop sees only progress and the result — never your file names.
  • BetterThe shop's name stays at the top of every step, so you always know who's running your migration.

  • NewQuick send: pick a few files or folders, pair with a code, done. No scan, nothing to buy — free up to 11 GB a send.
  • NewThe receiving computer chooses where things are saved, and nothing arrives until it says yes. Add a note for the other side.
  • NewStay connected for the next send — no new code until you disconnect or leave it idle for 10 minutes.
  • BetterA new welcome screen that fits any window size, with both ways to use the app side by side.

  • BetterA small free move no longer uses up your free plan. What counts is what you actually move, up to 11 GB each time.
